Community Trail
My journey in western Wyandotte County has been a great adventure and an incredible blessing. In 2020, Bonner Springs welcomed me from rural Leavenworth County, where I had grown up since 1991. Bonner Springs immediately felt like home. That sense of organic belonging inspired intentions to get to know and invest in our communities.
Earning a seat in the Kansas House of Representatives is my commitment to stepping up to serve our communities in a broader capacity. The time is now, and I’m ready.
With my passion, consistency, and authenticity, I will represent District 33 with pride, respect, and a deep commitment to the people. Our district is at a pivotal moment. We need strong leadership that is ready to advocate and work together in Topeka. We have been left out of the conversation far too many times. A strong Community Benefits Agreement and infrastructure investment must be top priorities for Economic Development. You can count on me to help lead District 33 into a bright future.
The Journey
I began volunteering with Vaughn-Trent Community Services and, within a year, joined its Board of Directors. Six months later, I accepted a seat on the Bonner Springs-Edwardsville Area Chamber’s Board of Directors. Shortly after, the Executive Director position became available. At the time, I had been in a role for six years, but something told me something greater was waiting, so I took a leap of faith.
The Chamber contract was originally for three months. Fast forward, and I am now four years in as Executive Director—a decision that has changed my life in more ways than I could have imagined.
The Chamber and Vaughn-Trent serve both Bonner Springs and Edwardsville. Experiences solidified that we’re one big community and encouraged the importance of equal representation.
It led to being a part of the Edwardsville Elementary Site Council and building more meaningful connections. By then, it was an easy decision to run for City Council in 2023. Each step helped lay the foundation for positive impact, leading to my election to the Council, Director of the Tiblow Days Festival, an appointment to the Bonner Springs Tourism Board, and proudly becoming a member of the Bonner Springs Rotary Club.
