Funded our City Departments, while lowering the City tax levy due to economic development growth - 5 years in a row of lowering the City’s tax levy
Invested over $3+ million into equipment for Police, Fire, and Public Works, to ensure their success in best serving our city and our residents.
Transitioned our Fire Department to full-time from a Volunteer Department.
Established a DMV location at Bonner Springs City Hall. Our communities deserve equal access to County services. It’s running efficiently and effectively.
A+ ratings on our finance audits - A commitment to conscious spending and transparent responsibility of tax dollars.
$500+ million development agreement that directly benefits the City now, and in the future. Includes property tax, sales tax incentives, and utilities expansion.
$25+ million of investments into our historic downtown - Market rate + moderate income housing, a new City park, and revitalization of historic buildings.
Invested in a new, $30 million water treatment plant—pretreated, softened water, with new waterlines and the ability to serve on a larger capacity.
Refigured City fees to make them small business-friendly. Lowering costs is important to their reinvestments and overall success.
Personally pushed and was successful in a stronger City + Community engagement. Properly serving the community means intentionally getting to know them.
Implemented an updated, well-earned pay scale for City staff. Being on the edge of the metro, we must retain talent and invest in our hardworking employees.
Completed major street projects and overdue waterline projects. Maintaining growth means properly keeping up with what we have.
Passed the Common Consumption ordinance during special events to strengthen attendance & benefit our small businesses. More foot traffic means more support poured into our local merchants.
A public-private partnership for the development of a new City park in our downtown. This includes a splash pad, restrooms, a midblock crossing, and ADA accessible features for everyone to enjoy.
Launched a public-private partnership program for small businesses for façade improvements. Supporting our small businesses’ appearances benefits everyone.
Secured needed housing: moderate-income apartments, townhomes, and senior living. With a 99% occupancy rate, diverse housing options are crucial.
Cleaned up outdated City codes & ordinances. Our city is at a different point than it was 10 years ago. Equal accountability and streamlining processes keep us efficient and effective.
